$10 All You Can Drink

That was the sign this week in front of a local bar. Does that mean, like the tired old joke, that three drinks are “all you can drink for $10″? Or, will the bartender keep serving until each paying customer says “stop”?

The average person ponying up at an all-you-can-eat buffet or other meal will try to get the most value for their money by eating more than they should. I don’t see where it will be any different when a bar advertises all-you-can-drink prices. It’s irresponsible. The person paying their $10 will expect to get double, triple, or more, “value” for their buck. When it’s food, the damage is unnecessary weigh gain. When it’s alcohol, the damage can be deadly.
